Day 13

Breakfast:
600ml FU iced coffee (strong)

Lunch:
choc brownie bar

Afternoon tea:
Bulla mini frozen yoghurt on a stick (mango)

Dinner:
chinese (various noodles, veg, pork, spinach dumplings)

Water:
2.4L

Acivity:
medium (walking)

Well, as you can see, my diet broke today. I ran out of supplies yesterday and planned to get more before the shops closed at 9pm, but after my pay came through at 6pm. Unfortunately we got caught up with stuff and I didn't get there. This led to me not having my shake for breakfast, and having to organise with a pharmacy in Warrnambool to get some supplies to me at the station on my way through to Melbournne. That plan worked ok, thankfully. So I have enough supplies to last until Sunday. But where we went for dinner didn't have much in the way of options for my dinner, so I just ate with the others. Oh! I had 2 mouthfulls of coke, too *ashamed* but I felt like I desperately needed the sugar.

Hopefully tomorrow will work out better, diet-wise.

Day 12

Breakfast:
pina colada shake

Lunch:
caramel bar

Afternoon tea:
banana

Dinner:
onion, steamed veg & 2 eggs

Snack:
snakata mini pack

Water:
1.6L

Activity:
light

Been eating a lot of the same veg, especially cabbage & brussel sprouts, and I think my body is starting to complain. My belly has been rather icky the last couple of days. Need to figure out how to get substance into a meal, make it more filling, without the carbs. I'll have to look into more recipes from my book and the website.

Preparing to go on holiday in the morning.

Day 11

Breakfast:
cappuccino shake

Morning tea:
banana

Lunch:
choc brownie bar

Afternoon tea:
banana

Dinner:
steamed veg & chicken steak

Snack:
snakata mini pack

Water:
2.4L

Activity:
none

I think next time I buy shakes, I'll get all cappuccino. They're quite nice, and remind me of my the iced coffees I used to have a lot. Anyway ... hungry a lot today. Well, this evening, really. Guess if I was in bed earlier I wouldn't notice so much. I'd give anything for a slice of bread ... Have to keep reminding myself that this is going to be worth it, and I'll be able to have regular food in moderation when I've dropped to my target weight. It's hard. High carb foods were some of my favourites. Bread, potatoes, pumpkin ... even peas are on my 'avoid' list - and they're all my favourite foods. I can't just keep eating fruit all day to sate the hunger, either. Only allowed 2 pieces a day. Vegetables I can have as much as I like, though - but there's not much in the way of vegies that I can/want to snack on.

Struggling, but sticking to it.

Day 10

Breakfast:
chocolate shake

Lunch:
caramel bar

Afternoon tea:
banana

Dinner:
steamed veg + braised steak & onions

Water:
2.2L

Activity:
minimal

Slow day today, but I got a lot of water into me. Still having cravings for my old favourite foods. Been getting me down a bit. Well, a lot. Been really moody, too. And I can't tell if that's to do with the diet or hormones, since I don't menstruate any more and can't tell when my cycles would be. For all I know I could just be PMSing really bad right now. Which would also account for my craving of comfort food and depression. *sighs* I don't know.

Just have to keep telling myself it's worth it.

Day 9

Breakfast:
banana shake

Lunch:
choc brownie bar

Afternoon tea:
banana

Dinner:
steamed veg + 2 poached eggs

Snack:
strawberry yoghurt

Water:
1L

Activity:
none

Really bad day. Slept most of it, felt tired a lot. I think maybe I definitely need to look into taking vitamin supplements as well. Was depressed on and off, too. Had cravings for binging on chips, or bread. Strong cravings. Was hard not to. I think maybe sleeping a lot was a way to avoid dealing with the cravings. Felt a bit tight & sick in my stomach by the end of the day. Probably stress.

Habits are so hard to kick.

Day 8

Breakfast:
cappuccino shake (so yum)

Morning tea:
banana

Lunch:
caramel bar

Dinner:
veg stir-fry with chicken steak

Snack:
crust of bread

Water:
2L

Activity:
minimal

So today was a bad day. Slept really bad last night, was hot, muggy and uncomfortable today. At least it meant I got through a lot of water. When I bought some fresh bread for the boys, though, I caved and had the thin end crust. Gods it tasted good. Didn't put anything on it, just fresh. I miss bread so much. That's the hardest thing to give up so far. Absolutely stuffed myself for dinner, though. Ate far too much I think, but I wanted to fill up on veg so I didn't feel so hungry later. It worked - I still feel full.

Still determined, though a little depressed.

Day 7

Weigh-in:
95.7kg

Weight loss to date:
2.5kg

Breakfast:
choc-orange shake (just like jaffas!)

Morning tea:
banana

Lunch:
choc brownie bar

Afternoon tea:
apple

Dinner:
steamed veg & Ingham chicken steak

Water:
1.7L

Activity:
light (walking)

So I went in for my first weigh-in today. I was hoping for at least 1kg. I almost couldn't believe I got a 2.5 loss on the first week! My consultant said it was very good, and above average for a first week loss. It made me feel really good. Definitely good incentive to keep going. I know that the following weeks aren't necessarily going to be as good for the figures, but ANY loss is a good thing, and now I know I can do it. It hasn't been too hard so far. It's a lot of re-education, to eat the right things, and avoid the foods that won't help me lose weight. And once I'm down to my target weight, I'll learn to maintain it. During that time I'll be allowed to be a little more indulgent with food at times, as long as I learn to keep it to a minimum and under control.

Kicking the food addiction, one week at a time.

Day 6

Breakfast:
chocolate shake

Morning tea:
banana

Lunch:
chocolate brownie bar

Afternoon tea:
apple

Dinner:
tuna & veg stir-fry

Snack:
Nestle diet yoghurt, vanilla

Water:
1.2L

Activity:
light

Definitely not a day for drinking much water. Not sure why, just couldn't really stand it. Might have to maybe get a water cooler or something for this summer - might help me drink more water. Diet's going well. Dinner was beautiful. Jase snacked on some Kettle chips (honey chicken flavour) and I had 2 of them, just to taste. I hadn't had them before. They were yum! I could quite happily snack the whole pack away. Just as well I'm on this diet, huh?

Determined.
